Hello! I'm Deimys
I am the founder and Clinical Director of Mindful Minds Psychiatry, where I lead with a clear vision: to build a practice that delivers exceptional, evidence-based care while remaining deeply human, compassionate, and grounded.
My role extends beyond patient care. I oversee the clinical direction of the practice, mentor providers, and ensure a strong balance between patient experience, provider support, and operational excellence. I am committed to maintaining a culture rooted in accountability, growth, and integrity, where both patients and staff feel supported and empowered.
A core focus of mine is keeping our practice aligned with the most current standards in psychiatry. I actively study emerging treatments, evolving research, and modern approaches to mental health care, and I ensure that our entire team is continuously educated and evolving alongside the field.
At the same time, I prioritize sustainability. I work intentionally to protect work-life balance for our providers and staff, knowing that when our team is well-supported, they are able to show up fully and provide the highest level of care to our patients.
My clinical approach is rooted in seeing the whole person, not just a diagnosis.
During our initial evaluation, we take a comprehensive approach, exploring medical history, psychiatric history, lifestyle, nutrition, sleep, stress, and overall functioning. My goal is not to rush to label, but to understand the full picture.
I practice a holistic, integrative model of psychiatry, identifying root contributors to symptoms and building a treatment plan that may include lifestyle changes, therapeutic support, and medication when appropriate. Care is collaborative. We work together to create a path that feels aligned, sustainable, and effective.
My passion for this work is deeply personal.
There was a point in my life where everything shifted, where I experienced what it feels like to be at rock bottom. That moment gave me clarity and direction. I knew I was meant to help others find their way back to themselves.
That is the meaning behind Mindful Minds Psychiatry’s symbol, a hand holding a candle. It represents light in the darkness, guidance, and hope.
Our mission is simple: to be that light for others when they need it most.
Fun Fact
I was born and raised in Playa, Cuba, and moved to the United States at 14 years old. I spent my early years in Miami before joining the United States Navy, where I worked in aviation on EA-6B Prowler aircraft. My time in the military helped shape my discipline, resilience, and commitment to service, qualities that continue to guide my work today.
After completing my service, I moved to Colorado in 2009, where I met my husband, Joshua Vigil. Together, we’ve built both a life and a mission here. While my heart will always be connected to the ocean, I’ve come to truly appreciate the balance and beauty of Colorado’s outdoors.
Outside of the clinic, I am deeply committed to continuous growth, both personally and professionally. I spend much of my time reading and learning about mindfulness, neurobiology, psychopharmacology, self-improvement, spirituality, and the connection between mind, body, and soul. That curiosity and drive to evolve is something I bring into every aspect of my life and leadership.
I’ve always had a strong, internal pull toward helping others reach their fullest potential. It’s not just part of what I do, it’s part of who I am.
On a more personal note, I also have a creative side. I have a deep appreciation for art and even own my own tattoo machine. While I keep most of my tattoos hidden in professional settings, each piece is meaningful and serves as a reminder of growth, resilience, and self-expression.
