THE NEW CRISIS HOTLINE NUMBER 9-8-8


The 9-8-8 crisis hotline number. Changed so that it would be easier to remember. Federal government made investment in founding this program in every state. Statewide crisis line since 2014 still active, but you can call this number and it will get you to a mental health advocate. Instead of calling 911 or going to the nearest emergency center to you, you can dial 9-8-8 and someone will be ready to talk to you and hear you out. Unfortunately, many have reported that their emergency room experience has not been positive when having a mental health crisis. Take advantage of this number and their services. Most individuals get what they need in the phone call and or resources. You can dial 9-8-8 anywhere in the nation and they will get you connected with your state and the resources that pertain to your local area, by asking for your zip code. 


Calling this number does NOT mean law enforcement involvement. 9-8-8 does NOT have in involvement with law enforcement. You can choose to remain anonymous; this crisis system does NOT have the ability to track your location and or send law enforcement.
