ABOUT

Hello, my name is Karen.

I have worked inpatient labor and delivery and postpartum for the last two decades. Many of those years were spent as the clinical team lead in the family birth center at Boulder Community Hospital. My long nursing career has provided me with diverse patients experiencing a large range of physical and emotional needs.

I saw a growing need for high quality mental health providers in my community. It’s difficult to see families struggling to find mental health care for their children. As a nurse, my life has revolved around helping others attain optimal health. Mental health should be no exception. I wanted to be part of the solution to improving the quality and accessibility of mental health support in my community

I offer a nonjudgemental listening space. I will work collaboratively with my patients to help find solutions and treatment options that feel right for them. I enjoy humor and try to apply it when appropriate.

I see patients beyond a diagnosis.  Many factors affect mental health including sleep, life stressors and vital nutrients. We will explore how these factors play a role in their current situation and how best to improve all aspects of their lives. Patients can expect curiosity from me as well as therapeutic support and treatment plans based on evidence.

I have a 20-year history working with growing families and helping them adapt to their new roles as their families evolve. I believe in learning new things everyday.
