ABOUT
Hello and welcome! My name is Sharon, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 11 years of experience in behavioral health nursing across inpatient, residential, and partial hospitalization settings. Throughout my career, I have worked closely with individuals experiencing eating disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related conditions, mood disorders, and personality disorders, and I am deeply committed to helping patients navigate these challenges with compassion and evidence-based care.
I have completed all requirements for the Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) credential and am currently awaiting final approval. I am also a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), which allows me to bring a unique perspective to the emotional and psychological impact of living with diabetes. I understand how closely mental health, nutrition, body image, and blood sugar management can be interconnected, and I am particularly passionate about supporting individuals working through these complex and deeply personal experiences.
I truly love the work I do and feel honored to walk alongside people during some of the most vulnerable and transformative seasons of their lives. I believe in meeting patients where they are and creating a space where open, honest communication is encouraged. My goal is to foster a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns and actively participating in your care. I take a collaborative and individualized approach, incorporating evidence-based treatment, lifestyle-focused strategies, and medication management when clinically appropriate.
FUN FACT
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, my two adult sons, and my new granddaughter. Our home is also shared with three corgis—Ginger, Gizmo, and Gemma—and our cat, Gypsy. In my free time, I enjoy reading, camping (or more accurately, glamping), and fishing. While I wouldn’t consider myself musically inclined, learning to play the harp remains on my “someday” list.
I have a twin sister who is also a PMHNP at Mindful Minds Psychiatry, so if you think you’re seeing double, you probably are!
